Aromatherapy includes the use of essential oils in a holistic massage treatment to benefit physical and emotional wellbeing.

The treatment begins with a consultation so that the most appropriate and suitable blend of oils can be selected.

Each essential oil possesses distinctive therapeutic properties, which can be blended and utilized to improve health and prevent disease. The oils are absorbed through the skin and have gentle physiological effects.

Aromatherapy is effective for stress related problems, a variety of chronic conditions, and is also deeply relaxing.

Massage is the manipulation of soft tissue of the body to produce therapeutic effects on the muscular, vascular and nervous system. The massage can be adapted to your specific needs, particularly effective on aches, stiffness and ‘knotty’ tissue problems.

A simple and safe natural healing therapy based on the principal that each organ and every part of the body corresponds to a precisely located point on the feet.

By using gentle thumb and finger pressure on these reflex points it activates the body’s own healing mechanism, restoring a clear flow of energy to correct any imbalances or congestion.

It has a rejuvenating effect on the whole of the human body, reducing stress and tension, and inducing deep relaxation.

It improves blood and lymph circulation and cleanses the body of toxins and impurities.

Reflexology eases pain and is an excellent preventative healthcare.

It is effective in treating Asthma, respiratory problems, constipation, digestive disorder, depression, stress related conditions, hormonal imbalances, water retention, Chronic Fatigue and fertility problems, and several other conditions.

Holistic Facial

Using high quality products and pure plant essential oils individually blended to meet the needs of your skin.

A deep cleanse, exfoliation and tone are followed by a wonderfully relaxing face, neck, shoulder, and scalp massage which will improve circulation and texture of the skin, as well as encouraging cellular activity and rejuvenation.

Pressure point massage will gently stimulate and balance body energies, encouraging relaxation and stress relief and promoting a wonderful sense of wellbeing.

Hopi Ear Candling

This is an ancient form of treatment and was used by the North American Indians. The candles, which are cylindrical with hollow centres, are made of natural substances such as honey, beeswax and medicinal herbs. They are lit and gently inserted into the outer ear and are used both to cleanse the ear and to regulate the pressure system within the inner ear.

The treatment is soothing and includes a comforting holistic facial incorporating a sinus and acupressure point massage.

I only use Bisosun Hopi Ear Candles, thus reflecting the high quality and professional treatments given.

Reiki Healing

Reiki (pronounced Ray-Key) is a form hands-on healing which works by accessing the natural energy flowing around and within all living things. This universal life energy is focussed through the practioner’s hands, whilst the receiver remains fully clothed on the couch, allowing the energy to be released wherever it is needed, initiating a healing process.

A treatment is deeply relaxing, excellent for emotional and stress related problems, relieves pain, reduces shock and restores vital energy lost in everyday life.

Reiki can also included with any other treatment of your choice.

Hot Stone Therapy

(The ultimate in relaxation)

Total holistic body treatment with hot stones. Uplifting and harmonising treatment that boosts the circulation, releases muscle tension thus achieving a sense of well being.

Hot stone therapy works on every level; body, mind and spirit to create a balancing, meditive experience at a deep level– leaving both your mind and body refreshed.

Indian Head Massage

Discover the power of touch with this ancient therapy originating from the Indian form of Ayvurvedic Medicine.

An invigorating and non-invasive treatment concentrating on the upper half of the body.

Very beneficial for relieving tension, mental tiredness, depression, headaches, migraines, eye strain, insomnia, neck and shoulder stiffness. It improves concentration and promotes hair growth.

Emmett Technique

Is a unique form of body therapy. It involves the application of light finger pressure at specific points, referred to as “Emmett points”. The points are not the same as traditional trigger points or acupressure points or any other points described in any other therapy. The pressure required to stimulate the EMMETT points does not need to be firm or painful. “No pain - no gain” has no place in EMMETT Technique philosophy.

The EMMETT Therapist is skilled in the art of applying the right amount of pressure ... in the right direction ... for the right amount of time.

It is this combination of elements, unique to each individual, which creates the desired physical change.

Although often combined with other techniques, the EMMETT Technique is an efficient and effective therapy on its own.

Laura Lee Holistics

What is Holistic Therapy?

Holistic health is a concept in medical practice upholding that all aspects of people's needs including psychological, physical and social should be taken into account and seen as a whole.

What does it help with?

Holistic therapies are beneficial for everyone. They are a natural way of helping your body to find balance and promote a healthy life style.

Stress, back and neck pain, whiplash, sports injuries, frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, lack of energy, muscle tension, headaches, digestive problems, IBS, asthma, hayfeve, eczema, psoriasis and arthritis are just some the most common conditions and illness that can benefit from a holistic approach to health.

What is Aromatherapy?

Aromatherapy is a term that encompasses many forms of treatment.

Aromatherapy uses the purest plant essence in the form of organic essential oils, which are extracts from various parts of plants, fruits, flowers, bark, roots, or resin. Essential oils contain dozens of powerful complex natural chemicals that have beneficial properties. Due to the diversity of essential oils and their individual therapeutic properties, the range of benefits and effects of Aromatherapy is wide ranging.

Laura has a holistic approach to client consultation. She selects the appropriate essential oils for the maximum therapeutic benefit. The selected essential oils are blended with a carrier/base massage oil to create a unique mix for to suit individual needs. This Aromatherapy blend is usually applied to the skin with traditional body massage. Other massage techniques such as deep tissue work may also be used, depending on your need.

The Benefits of Aromatherapy Massage

Aromatherapy treatments have both physiological and psychological effects. The combination of massage and the medicinal and therapeutic qualities of the essential oils (molecules both inhaled [aroma] and absorbed through the skin) can soothe, revitalise, uplift the spirit, encourage positive thinking and boost the immune system enabling the body to heal itself.

Physiological Benefits

Aromatherapy massage can:

• enhance lymphatic drainage – this helps to reduce fluid retention and prevent oedema
• induce a feeling of deep relaxation in the body
• help to restore balance in the body
• stimulate the body’s natural immune system
• increase the oxygen and nutrient supply to the tissues by increasing the blood circulation
• help to increase energy levels as blockages and congestion in the nerves are eased.

Psychological Benefits

Aromatherapy massage can:

• promote a general state of well-being
• calm and soothe the mind
• help to reduce nervous tension
• help to lift the mood and reduce feelings of depression

What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is a popular and relaxing holistic treatment based on the principle that reflex points on the soles, tops and sides of the feet are connected to corresponding areas throughout the body. In this way, the feet can be seen as a ‘map’ of the body.

Benefits of Reflexology

•Reduced stress
•Feelings of deep relaxation
•Increased energy levels
•The release of endorphins, the body’s feel good hormones, (which can also provide pain relief)
•Improved circulation
•More efficient removal of impurities and toxins
•A stronger immune system
•A sense that the whole body is better balanced, or in harmony

What happens during a Reflexology treatment?

A reflexology treatment lasts for approximately an hour. As its just the feet that are being worked on, you remain fully clothed; simply removing your shoes and socks. You’ll be invited to relax on a treatment couch. Your feet will be cleansed at the start of the treatment and then a variety of reflexology techniques will be used, adapted to suit your individual needs.

Can everyone enjoy reflexology?

Reflexology is suitable for most people but there are certain conditions where you should avoid reflexology. To ensure the continued well-being of clients, all treatments begin with a consultation, which enables the therapist to make sure reflexology is right for you. A record card will be kept with any relevant notes for future reatments.

After your treatment

To gain maximum benefit from your reflexology treatment, try to rest afterwards - this helps your body’s natural healing process. Drink plenty of water over the next few days - this helps to flush away toxins. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact your therapist.

Holistic Facial Massage

What is a Holistic Facial Massage?

A Holistic Facial can help to improve the skin and hairs texture and appearance as the circulation is increased, giving you a healthy looking complexion. This is a very relaxing treatment as it can both stimulate and soothe the skins’ nerve endings, which can help to delay fine lines and wrinkles, and tones facial muscles. It can help to reduce tension headaches and leaves you with a feeling of well-being.

What does the treatment involve?

Skin type will be discussed to ensure the most suitable products are used. Skin care routine and products will be discussed to meet your needs and requirements. Any make-up will be removed before treatment starts.

The skin is then cleansed twice, and a toner or spritz will be used. An exfoliating product will be applied to help remove dead skin cells and traces of cleanser and toner. The facial massage will be performed using pure essential oils especially blended for your skins’ requirements.

The massage includes the face, neck, shoulders and upper arms and is extremely relaxing. Work will be done on specific pressure points to encourage stimulation, and can help to release endorphins, which are the body's feel good hormones.

Lymphatic drainage is performed to help lymph drainage into the nearest node, and then a non-setting face mask will be applied, along with a refreshing eye mask. While the mask is on, a scalp, shoulder, neck and ear massage will be performed to relax and soothe your mind.

After the mask has been removed, a toner is applied, followed by a moisturiser, eye gel and lip balm. Aftercare advice will be given to ensure you get the best results from the treatment.

The benefits of an Holistic Facial can help to:

• Moisturise and nourish the skin
• Relax you as the treatment has a calming effect on the nervous system
• Increase the blood and lymph circulation
• Brighten the complexion due to increased blood circulation
• Give you a feeling of well-being
• Relieve stress and fatigue
• Promote restful sleep
• Improve concentration
• Reduce tension headaches
• Tone the facial muscles
• Improve the circulation to the scalp and hair
• Relieve pressure to the sinuses
• Boost the immune system

Hopi Ear Candling

What is Hopi Ear Candling?

Ear candles are hollow tubes made of unbleached cotton or linen and are hardened by beeswax. They are infused with honey and various herbs such as sage, chamomile or St.John’s Wort, with some varieties also containing essential oils. When lit they resemble candles, hence the name.

Benefits of Ear Candling

• Relaxation and stress relief
• Stimulation of local energy flow
The softening and loosening of compacted earwax
• Relief from sinus problems, headaches and snoring
• Easing pressure problems following flying and diving
• Possible temporary relief from tinnitus
• Reduced irritation of the ear canal
• Aids ear fluid circulation

What happens during an ear candling treatment?

An ear candling treatment typically lasts for approximately 45 mins. Following a consultation, Laura will ask you to lie on your side on a couch, a candle will then be gently inserted into the opening of the ear. She will hold the candle throughout the treatment.

Once the treatment is completed it will be repeated on the other ear.

During the treatment you may experience gentle heat around the ear area and a feeling of pressure being released in the ear or sinuses. You may hear popping sounds and a pleasant cracking as the ingredients are burning.

After your treatment

Once both ears have been treated, you should rest for 10 to 15 minutes. During this time, a soothing face and sinus massage may be given. Laura will then review any residue in the candles and provide you with further advice if needed. It is advisable to avoid water sports and swimming for 24 hours after treatment. Keep your ears warm as they may feel slightly more sensitive to the environment for a few hours after treatment.

What is Reiki?

Reiki (pronounced as 'ray-key') is a wonderful non-invasive complementary therapy, using natural energy flow for health and well-being. Its gentle nature means that Reiki is suitable for all ages.

Reiki is about you...

Reiki is intended to be used to improve your own personal wellness, not just illness.

Reiki is used for stress reduction, relaxation and symptom relief in efforts to improve overall health and well-being and it is a very relaxing experience.

Reiki is based on the philosophy that there is a universal energy that supports the body's inherent self-healing abilities.

Reiki Practitioners seek to access this energy, allowing it to flow to the body and facilitate the healing process.

A typical Reiki treatment

During a Reiki session you remain fully clothed (loose, comfortable clothing is suggested) while comfortably reclining on a massage table or seated in a chair.

The Reiki treatment proceeds with the practitioner placing their hands on the recipient in various positions. Some practitioners use a non-touching technique, where the hands are held a few centimetres away from the recipient's body. The hands are usually kept still for 3 to 5 minutes before moving to the next position.

The hand positions usually give a general coverage of the head, the front and back of the torso, knees and feet.

The recipient often feels warmth or tingling in the area being treated, even when using a nontouching approach.

A state of deep relaxation, combined with a general feeling of well-being is usually the most noticeable immediate effect of the treatment.

Hot Stones Therapy

What is Hot Stones Therapy?

Hot stones therapy is an exciting massage treatment sweeping the country. Basalt stones are heated and applied to the body in totally unique, and super relaxing ways, harmonising, restoring and rejuvenating the body at its deepest level.

The ultimate in relaxation!

During the hot stones massage treatment, smooth, basaltic (volcanic) rocks that have been heated in water are used in two ways; some stones are wrapped in towels and placed on specific energy centres, known as chakras, along the body to align and re-balance the body’s natural energy flow, whilst other stones are used by the therapist to perform the body massage.

The heat of the stones penetrates deep into the muscle tissue allowing the muscles to relax 4-5 times quicker than in a standard body massage, easing muscle tension and revitalising the muscle tissue by increasing blood circulation.

The deep relaxation and increased blood flow to the areas being worked not only accelerates any healing processes but also creates a state of deep mental relaxation.

Benefits include:

• Improved circulation
• Increased lymphatic drainage (toxin removal)
• Improved blood flow to tissues
• Reduces muscular tension
• Relieves aches and pains
• Reduces stress and anxiety
• Produces a deep relaxation

What happens during a hot stone treatment?

You will be asked to remove your clothing (except underpants) and make yourself comfortable on the massage couch, with a large towel to cover your body.

During the massage, only the part of your body being massaged will be exposed, to ensure your modesty.

At different times during the massage the stones will be wrapped in a towel and placed on certain parts of the body and other stones used to perform the massage over the skin. A plant-based massage oil will be applied to the skin to allow free movement of the stones and to nourish the skin.

A full body massage usually treats the back, legs, abdomen, arms, chest and neck, although this can be adapted to suit your individual requirements or preferences.

After treatment

Hot stone massage has a very detoxifying effect on the body and you can encourage this by drinking plenty of water and avoiding caffeine, nicotine and alcohol for the following 24 hours. Also try to avoid any strenuous exercise for 24 hours following treatment and try to rest and allow your body to heal from within.

You will feel so deeply relaxed after this treatment, make sure you keep the rest of your day free to really enjoy the benefits!

What is Holistic Massage?

Holistic therapy treats the body as a "whole", which means that not only will a massage treatment pamper your physical body, but it will also address internal and external problems and provide an effective method of rebalancing.

Holistic massage is a therapeutic application of touch that is also a supportive, relaxing treatmen,t that encourages the mind to slow down whilst energy is increased. This treatment also lifts the spirit on an emotional level.

How Holistic Massage Can Help You:

Holistic massage benefits the mind, body and spirit.

Massage relaxes taut muscles, aids lympathic drainage, releases toxins and benefits the "whole" in many other positive ways.

Physical and emotional stress can be reduced through therapeutic touch and a myriad of other restrictive problems can also be alleviated.

Daily life impacts on our body in many ways. Although we can easily become tired, stressed, anxious and exhausted, we seldom create the space to explore the therapeutic form of beneficial relaxation. Holistic massage can create instant improvement in the quality of sleep and concentration, improve circulation and waste removal and encourage deeper, more relaxed breathing, and is an accessible treatment for all ages.
